Nellie B. Lofthouse 2020 Scholarship Award Statement

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has thrust our community into unknown territory. We recognize this is a frightening time and that many in our community have faced both health and economic impacts.  We share your concerns for everyone’s health, safety, and well-being, and are focused on supporting all students at this time.

On April 16, 2020, New York State Governor Mario Cuomo, extended the New York State Stay-At-Home Order to at least May 15, 2020. As a result of this updated order, the Board of Directors of the Nellie B. Lofthouse Assistance Fund, Inc. has suspended the Nellie B. Lofthouse 2020 Scholarship Award until further notice.

This suspension comes at a time when countries around the globe are facing a myriad of negative impacts due to coronavirus (COVID-19). The NBL Assistance Fund, Inc. takes this unprecedented step in special consideration of applicants who are not able to provide required documents due to school closures and the extremely fluid financial aid/scholarship situations at colleges and universities across the country.

The Nellie B. Lofthouse Assistance Fund, Inc. remains focused on and committed to our educational mission and we look forward to resuming our scholarship award program and a sense of normalcy as quickly as possible. Thank you for your continued support, patience, and cooperation.
